Preventive Care

Oral hygiene is an essential part of your overall health and well-being. Drs. Brady and Lane strive to create a fun, educational environment where children learn about the importance of good dental health. Here are a few simple ways to prevent cavities and to create a beautiful, healthy smile for your child:

  • Brush your child’s teeth twice daily with a fluoridated toothpaste. At your dental visit, our dentists will recommend a specific program of brushing, flossing, and other treatments specific to your child’s age and needs.
  • Eat a well-balanced diet and avoid extra-sugary treats and beverages.
  • Remember to schedule regular checkups every six months for professional teeth cleaning and examination.
  • Ask your pediatric dentist if your child is ready for dental sealants, a protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the molars, to prevent decay.
  • If your child plays sports, be sure to wear a mouth guard designed to decrease the risk of injury and protect her smile.
